READING-If you would like to share a video or a recording of you reading a book (adults and kids welcome), please email your recording or video to melissa@basefortatkinson.org and we will highlight you as a BASE Mystery Reader on Wednesdays as we continue to focus on literacy & reading and our commitment to quality programs for kids. We will feature a special Mystery Reader video this Wednesday, April 8th with additional links and resources to get involved with our guest reader program!
How to become a a BASE Mystery Reader:
Create a video of you (adults and children welcome) reading your favorite book (video on your phone, computer using the camera or webcam feature, or other method).
Share the video with BASE Director of Operations Melissa Willkomm in one of these four ways:
share the video directly through email to melissa@basefortatkinson.org
share the video through your Google Drive, sharing to melissa@basefortatkinson.org
request the BOX account Mystery Reader Videos folder from melissa@basefortatkinson.org and then upload the video to the folder
visit www.wetransfer.com and transfer large video files for free to melissa@basefortatkinson.org
Your video will be shared on our BASE Facebook page, website program blog, and the BASE Kids Lab-Literacy & Reading tab.
LEADERSHIP-This is the 4th Home Chat from Growing Leaders: Fountains or Drains. Fountains and Drains have two opposite functions: fountains overflow with water while drains remove the water completely. In relationships with others, most people are usually a fountain or a drain — they either flow and overflow onto others, or they just drain people of their energy. My guess is that you’ve probably met both kinds of people. They either refresh the life in others or they dry it up. Driven by a positive attitude, great leaders focus on empowering people rather than exploiting them. You can also do these Add-on Activities as a family!
